Matthew McConaughey is heading back to school, but this time as a teacher.
On Thursday, the University of Texas Austin shared a video on their Facebook page announcing that the actor will return to his alma mater this fall as a professor of film. McConaughey, who graduated from the UT Austin in 1993, is teaming up with Free State of Jones director Gary Ross to give 30 lucky students a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the civil war drama. McConaughey plays Newt Knight, a Mississippi farmer and rebel, in the movie that hits theaters July 1.
But this isn’t the first time he’s shared his movie knowledge with UT students. McConaughey co-taught the same course about the making of his film Surfer Dude back in 2008.
And he’s full of Longhorn spirit! The Interstellar actor regularly returns to campus for football games.
